I refer to your email below of 25 July 2009 which you had previously sent to the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority ('Financial Regulator') on 17 July 2009. I further refer to my colleague Marie Kelly's response which was sent to you on 20 July 2009 (copy attached).
In addition to the information which Ms Kelly has provided to you, I can confirm that the firm is not at the address in Ireland where it is claiming to be based. In light of the information contained on its website and the fact that the firm was claiming or holding itself out to be an investment firm in Ireland, the Financial Regulator issued a warning notice in relation to the firm, stating that the firm is not authorised by the Financial Regulator to operate as an investment firm.
I note from you email that you believe that the Financial Regulator suspended the activities of the company. In this regard, I can confirm that, beyond the publication of the warning notice, no other action was taken by the Financial Regulator against this firm.
Finally, it should be noted that the firm is not listed on the Companies Registration Office website as being incorporated in Ireland, and that the only connection that this firm would appear to have with Ireland is that it was claiming or holding itself out to be located here.
