The California Department of Corporations today, March 14, ordered the Internet-based company doing business as Profitable Sunrise, to shut down its operation.
The principals, Roman and Radoslav Novak, were also barred from luring unsuspecting clients into an illegal investment and lending scam, according to the cease-and-desist announcement issued by the state.
Jan Lynn Owen, commissioner, said California joined regulators around the world in the crackdown of the company operating under the limited liability venture, InterReef Ltd.
Profitable Sunrise, advising clients to “Get Richer With Every Sunrise,” allegedly used Biblical themes to wrest funds from customers. It falsely claimed “risk-free” investment returns of 1.5 percent to 3 percent per day, Owen said.

The Internet site appeared to be down on Thursday.
